Holy Week Service Schedule

During this week, we walk with Jesus through the final days of his life, the days that are the core of our faith – the truth that the broken are made whole, the lost are found, and out of death rises new life for us and for all. In these days, we walk together through the truths that make us the body of Christ here in our world. They truly are sacred. They are holy. They are not just life changing – they are where we find Life. We hope that you will join us, and bring others with you, to wade into the mystery and miracle of the Resurrection.

Palm Sunday – March 20, 8am & 10:30am and 5:30pm: Participate in the movement from Jesus’ triumphal entrance into Jerusalem with palms waving to betrayal and death with the dramatic reading of the Passion narrative.

Stations of the Cross – Friday, March 25 at noon: Walk the way of the cross through meditation and prayer using the pictorial representations of the fourteen stations around the church. Lead by the Rev. Canon Ralph Stanwise.

The Triduum – March 24-26, all at 7pm: These are the most experiential of our liturgies, and appropriate for all ages who want to embody the journey from last supper to empty tomb with Christ this Easter season.

Maundy Thursday – March 24, 7pm: On Maundy Thursday, we remember the two things Jesus instructed us to do in remembrance of him – washing each other’s feet and sharing the bread and wine of the Eucharist. We finish with the stripping of the altar to prepare for Good Friday, followed by a watch for anyone who would like to take a shift.

Good Friday – March 25, 7pm: Good Friday is a solemn experience of sitting with Christ in his moment of suffering.

The Easter Vigil – March 26, 7pm: The Easter Vigil is our most important service of celebration, in which we share and embody the story of our faith together. Starting in darkness to symbolize the tomb, we then light the first fire and the Christ candle, hear the story of God’s saving grace through all generations, baptize new members of the faith, and sing the first Alleluia of Easter. We will follow the first Eucharist of Easter with sharing a feast. If you can only attend one service during Holy Week, this is the one! Please join us for this important celebration of our life as the body of Christ.

Easter Day – March 27, 8am and 10:30am: Come and celebrate the glory of the risen Christ on Easter morning. The 10:30 service is a solemn high Eucharist with incense and brass accompaniment.
