We will offer a service of Choral Evensong for Candlemas at 5:00pm on Sunday, February 2. Evensong is a beautiful service unique to the Episcopal tradition in which Evening Prayer is set to music. The service includes readings, psalms, canticles, anthems, and prayers led by the choir along with congregational hymns. Altogether, Evensong offers a wonderful opportunity to encounter God in worship with the beauty of song. Candlemas is an ancient holiday that celebrates the presentation of Jesus in the temple and marks the end of the Christmas season. We will bless the candles in the church and celebrate the light that came into the darkness in Jesus. We hope you join us to honor our tradition and to worship God in beauty.
